Fun at School

This has been a fun week at school for Kathleen and Joshua! Joshua's class had a special "Holiday Happenings" afternoon which I, along with several other parents, got to help out with. His class has been learning about Hannakuh, Kwanza, and Christmas so we spent the hour making crafts that represent each holiday. On Thursday, I had the pleasure of being a guest reader in his class to read "Santa's Favorite Story" in which Santa tells the story of Jesus' birth. Kathleen got to make a "gingerbread" house in her class this week and enjoyed a mug exchange with her classmates on Friday. Also that day, the children were allowed to wear pajamas to school and spent the whole afternoon reading as a culmination of their "gift of reading" week. Their only homework all week was to read for at least 25 minutes. In the picture above, Kathleen & Joshua are ready for their last day of school before Christmas break!
