Well, we participated in our first "pinewood derby" this weekend. We got pre-cut cars and the kids had fun painting them and putting them together but we didn't add weights or do anything really to make them competitive. Kathleen's car weighed in at 4.9 oz. (just under the 5 oz limit) but Joshua's was significantly less so we added some weights there to bring him up to 4.9. Joshua's car did manage to cross the finish line in each of it's races. Kathleen's car didn't even make it that far! But they both had fun cheering on the cars of their friends! Maybe we can give it a better go next time. Here's a video of Joshua's first heat for any of you who don't know what a pinewood derby is:
It was a special treat having Oma & Papa here this weekend, too! We really enjoyed your visit! Thanks!
I've also added a few more pics to my April Picasa Album.
