Ice Skating!

Our church sponsored a family ice skating night at the local ice skating rink here in Wake Forest. Kathleen and Joshua have been looking forward to this since last year when we decided not to take them. We found some roller blades at the Sharing Shop shortly after that and they've both been practicing on roller blades to get ready for this night. Most recently, we squeezed in one last practice in the kitchen yesterday since it was raining outside.
A friend in our care group offered to keep Timothy and the other 4 of us had a blast ice skating tonight. The children really did great! Joshua fell pretty hard one time and came up with a bloody nose but he recovered quickly and by the end of the evening he could skate pretty well with out holding on to anything. Unfortunately the battery died in my video camera before I got any good footage of him.
Kathleen hooked up with one of her friends from church and they pretty much circled the rink together all evening. Her friend started off a little slower than Kathleen but they hung in there together and before the evening ended they were both skating back and forth straight across the rink with no sides to hold on to.
I did manage to get a clip of Kathleen speeding along the side. Here it is...
